Over ten years of research went into producing Civil War Truce— Remarkable Little-Known Story of Sister Lucy. A group of four researchers scoured period letters, books, archives, telegrams and photographs. Throughout our research experience we heard one phrase repeated over and over, “Due to the fires and flooding we don’t have that material any longer . . .” However, without a doubt, additional information sits in family collections throughout the United States. This is a true-life mystery that we would love to solve and we are asking for your help! Who was Sister Lucy’s family? Was her family name Dosh, Dosch or possibly Douche? Was she actually born in Hazelton, PA or in Germany? Were there other siblings other than Laura and Lucina? One beauty of the interactive book is our ability to add to the story as new facts emerge, and of course we will credit everyone who contributes new knowledge at the end of our book.
Additionally, all of Davis Studio’s research has been shared with several historical societies building a more complete picture of this young, heroic Sister. If you would like to share a family historical story about one of your relations, someone related to this story or to the events portrayed within, please submit it through this website on the contact page. We will post contributions here, and your story may inspire us to plan an app based on your story! If so, we will contact you about the details. Thanks for sharing!
